The purpose of this Case Study Report is to provide a summary description of the development of the District of Lake Country’s micro-hydro power plant. The District’s leadership in developing the project has been recognized both provincially and nationally and has won the District several awards. As a result of the success of the District of Lake Country’s project, the District receives numerous requests for information on the project. As well, local governments and First Nations throughout BC are increasingly examining the feasibility of developing and investing in micro-hydro power projects and are interested in learning from existing successful examples. This Case Study report was created by a partnership between the District of Lake Country and the Green Energy as a Rural Development Tool Project to provide this more detailed case study information.
