This magazine is all about the men who served in C/94th and E/320th in the Berlin Brigade from 1963 to 1994.
For more than a generation, the Berlin Redlegs defended an island of freedom, surrounded by a sea of oppression. Soldiers have defended cities for thousands of years. What makes the Berlin Redlegs different is that they did not fight Nazis, North Koreans or Viet Cong. They faced an enemy just as real, but the enemy that they fought against was an ideology that opposed individuality, liberty and the hope that things can always be better. These are the very ideas that have always made the United States a shining example for the rest of the world. Their presence in Berlin from 1963 to 1994 protected the people of Berlin, but more importantly, it showed the people of East Germany how things could be in a world without Soviet oppression. Due in part to the continued presence and efforts of the Berlin Redlegs, on November 9, 1989 the Berlin Wall fell, pulling down the entire Soviet Union with it. The Berlin Redlegs are veterans of the Cold War, having served behind enemy lines. There will always be soldiers, but there will never be another Berlin Redleg. That makes the Berlin Redlegs unique.
