In the summer of 2011, the District participated for the first time in the well-known Communities in Bloom program. Lake Country was mentored by the City of Kelowna, the past national champions. Communities in Bloom is much more than just flowers (although that is part of it). Municpalities are evaluated in all of the following areas:
