Neue Heimat is a personal response to the discovery of family heritage artifacts including a family story chronicling my paternal family's fleet from Austria-Hungary during WWII. This project gradually turned from a family discovery into a layered/complex study of what 'home' means. Using my typewriter, I candidly discussed family relationships through a stream of consciousness approach while pairing photos and artifacts to create juxtaposition and spark reflection with the reader.
